Welcome to the McLaren Hospice Volunteers Web Site
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome you to McLaren
Visiting Nurse & Hospice Volunteer web site. Here you’ll learn about what
many volunteers who are involved in various areas of the program are doing to
help patients and families.
Staff and volunteers often refer to their hospice work by using the words
such as "journey," "mission," "process," "growth," and "catharsis." If you
choose to join us, you may find yourself viewing your contribution in this
way.
To be certain, this volunteer opportunity will be unlike any other you may
have been involved in previously. We fervently hope you will discover the magic
and beauty inherent in hospice care.
Within hospice there are many volunteer opportunities available. If you
choose to begin with one activity but decide another one is more appealing, you
are free to do what you’d like. Remember, there are no "one way streets"
here.
During your time with us, we want to provide you with the skills and
knowledge you need to accomplish your job well. We wish to provide adequate
support and encouragement along the way. Please feel free to share any questions
you may have.
This web site was developed by McLaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice Volunteer
Coordinators and other hospice staff and McLaren Health Care support with your
needs in mind. The site provides a solid foundation of information for you.
You will have a firm knowledge of key concepts and information in order to
accomplish your work well. Once again, we are happy you chose to visit us. We
look forward to working with you and sharing the hospice journey together.
